Black Rocks is a popular walking and climbing area off the High Peak Trail. Climb up onto the gritstone outcrop for superb views over Cromford and Matlock Bath.  There are attractive circuit walks through adjoining deciduous and conifer Forestry Commission woodlands. Refreshments are available at Black Rocks at weekends and during the high season.

Visiting Black Rocks by bus: Catch bus 6.1, X17 or 110/111 from Matlock Bath (outside the train station) or Cromford market place (15 minute walk from train station). You can also catch the X17 to Wirksworth from Sheffield, Chesterfield and Matlock. View the bus timetables here, and please check with the travel operator before you travel.
