Middleton Top Countryside Centre on the High Peak Trail offers delightful views.

Middleton Top Countryside Centre on the High Peak Trail offers delightful views of the surrounding countryside. There is a gift shop, cycle hire centre, toilets and picnic area. The restored steam engine house built in 1829 by the Butterley Company to haul wagons up the Middleton incline is open to the public on certain weekends throughout the year.

Visiting Wirksworth by bus: Catch bus 6.1 or 110/111 from Matlock Bath (outside the train station) or Cromford market place (15 minute walk from train station). You can also catch the X17 from Sheffield and Matlock to Wirksworth. View the bus timetables here, and please check with the travel operator before you travel.
