Limestone Way is a 46-mile walk with spectacular scenery and views across the heart of the Peak District National Park, named after the rock which was formed 300 million years ago. The route is signed from near Matlock Station, from where it is a steep 2 mile climb to Bonsall from where walkers can head in either a northerly or southerly direction. You can return from Bonsall by bus 216 to either Cromford or Matlock. For a longer walk catch bus 172 from Matlock and walk back from Birchover (5 miles) or Youlgreave via Robin Hood’s Stride (8 miles).
