Derbyshire Wildlife Trust provide environmental education for schools at The Whistlestop Discovery Centre located in the former station building at Matlock Bath.
The Whistlestop Discovery Centre is a gorgeous place to explore and bring your little ones. Recently renovated, it now has its own classroom, discovery trail and wildlife pond.
Based in Matlock Bath, in the former railway station building, with access direct from the station platform into the centre.
All of our sessions are hands on and activity based for KS1 and 2 with some activities are suitable for KS3 and 4.
The Whistlestop Discovery Centre is in easy distance of the River Derwent, perfect for river dipping and High Tor Woods, perfect for woodland activities, and it lies in the heart of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.
