In the first of it’s kind, Peak Rail and Ecclesbourne Valley Railway have come together to present their Twin Peaks Diesel Gala. Named in reference to Peak Rail’s location in the Derbyshire Peak District and the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway’s location in the White Peak area of the Derbyshire Dales, the event will be a showcase of heritage diesel locomotives on both railways.
The event will feature a special interconnecting heritage bus service enabling passengers to seamlessly travel the short distance between the two lines so that they can travel on both railways for one inclusive ticket.
It promises to be a memorable event and one not to be missed!
Due to the temporary closure of Ecclesbourne Valley Railway’s Duffield platform it is recommended that visitors travel to Matlock to join the event at Peak Rail and travel to Wirksworth using the heritage bus service.

Peak Rail operate from Platform 2 at Matlock Station, which is opposite Platform 1 where EMR's trains from Derby and Nottingham terminate.
Exit Platform 1 and use the footbridge to go over the railway line and then walk down the ramp towards Sainsbury's. Peak Rail's platform entrance is on the right just before Sainsbury's.
