Pride in Belper

2 August 2025

Belper is a town known for its community spirit and commitment to inclusion. The Parade or ‘Strutt’ as we like to call it in Belper is taking place on Saturday 2nd August.

Pride in Belper will gather in the Market Place from about 11am in good time for the parade to start at 12 noon.

A message from Pride in Belper:

We value and celebrate the intersections of every single person who engages meaningfully in the community of Belper.

We believe that it is everyone’s responsibility to challenge  discrimination within our community and society, and it is not okay to be a bystander. We do not accept any form of behaviour or language which seeks to harm minority groups and activate hate.

In response to the UK Supreme Court ruling on the legal definition of a woman—a decision that’s caused deep hurt and fear for many Trans and non-binary people—Pride in Belper is taking action.
