Peak Rail welcome again the local enthusiast groups who organise this fine event for the 16th such rally. Included are displays of ‘buses of the past’ dating from the 1940’s to the 1990’s which have been lovingly restored by their owners, representing the many different makes and types. They proudly show off the colours and company names of their previous bus operators, most of which have since disappeared in today’s scene of large Bus Groups. Present also will be stalls selling all manner of memorabilia giving the opportunity to take home a model, a book, films and photos of transport of yesteryear.
From 11.30am and 4.00pm some of the exhibits will be offering rides to nearby destinations including Bakewell, Matlock and Darley Dale. Many of these runs call also at the other stations of Peak Rail’s restored railway allowing the opportunity of the double pleasure of transferring between historic train and preserved bus.
