An easy short circular 1.5 mile walk looking at the growth of this historic village from the 1770s when Richard Arkwright, father of the modern factory system, built two cotton spinning mills in Cromford. It takes in the houses that he built when he needed more workers, how he developed the market place and shows some of the systems he put in place to control the water supplies to the mills. Church walk is included with a view of Willersley castle and Cromford Church, both designed by Arkwright but not completed until after his death.
