Chesterfield: A Railway Town

Marking the 200th anniversary of the modern railway, this engaging new exhibition explores the history of Chesterfield’s three railway lines, the connection to industries in Brampton and the town’s connection with the father of the railways, George Stephenson.

Open Monday – Saturday, 10am – 1pm and 1.30pm – 3.30pm

The display also features photographs and maps, kindly shared by The Intrepids, a local railway walking group.

Entry is free.

This exhibition is part of the Museum on the Move programme, ensuring that while Chesterfield Museum and Pomegranate Theatre are closed for refurbishment, people can continue to connect with Chesterfield’s history and heritage.
